Appreciation Meditation

It is important to appreciate all of those people who have taught and helped you throughout your life. With their help you developed skills that you might not otherwise have had.

Appreciate all those things you used to take for granted. Your family, all of your friends and neighbors, the mailman, and all the other delivery people. All the days you’ve had a roof over your head and simply just being alive.

Take a long, deep mindful breath. Feel your lungs and chest expand and slowly exhale. Reflect on what you can give to others as a small repayment of what was given to you.

Say to yourself: “Those who act kindly in the world will receive kindess. Give, and it will be given to you… For the measure you give will be the measure you get back.” (Luke 6:36-38)
