Adjustment Disorder with Depressed Mood

Life has its ups and downs and affects everyone from time to time. Some people handle life’s problems with ease, yet others find themselves up against a brick wall unable to cope. An unexpected bill in the mail or some bad news can push the person into a bad mood – feeling worthless and sad, with a lack of self-confidence, and even teary-eyed.

If this condition is short-lived and the person is able to return to a normal mood and get back to their daily routine, what they experienced is called Adjustment Disorder with Depressed Mood. This condition is quite normal. If however, the condition is recurring, having a longer duration with a deepening depression, it may be time to seek professional help.
